How far should your fletching be from the nock?
For the most part, you want your fletching about 1-1.5 inches below the nock end of the arrow shaft. So place one appropriately in your clamp, and then lay it against the arrow WITHOUT glue, just to make sure everything is lined up properly.
How far is VANE from Nock?
7/8″ from the end of the arrow, or 1 1/4″ from the nock groove.
Where should arrow Fletch be placed?
You want the fletchings to be as far back as possible without contacting your face. The closer to the nock gives the fletchings greater leverage on the shaft for more efficient guidance, so if getting the minimum fletching size is important to gain speed or reduce crosswind drift, then move them back.
How far forward can you Fletch an arrow?
Arrows can be fletched at 0-5 degree helical, left or right, with the ability to hold vanes up to 4 inches in length.

How long after fletching can I shoot arrows?
Step 7. It’s advisable to leave a freshly-fletched arrow for a couple of hours before shooting, just to make sure the glue is properly set.
Does arrow length include Nock?
STANDARD OF MEASUREMENT` The standard AMO Method of measuring an arrow is the distance between the bottom of the groove of the nock (where the string rests in the nock) to the end of the arrow, not including the tip or insert. We measure and trim all arrows to length using this standard AMO (now the ATA) method.
How do you align a fletching nock?
Select a single fletching vein and place the nock on the end of the arrow without glue. Rotate the nock until the vertical slot is aligned directly below the fletching. Mark the alignment and glue the nock in place. Use this alignment for release shooting on all flat arrow rests.

Is helical fletching better than straight?
A helical vane is definately better especially for broadheads. The more helical the better 3-4 degrees on Blazer vanes. A arrow that is spinning going thru the air is more stable in flight.
How does fletching affect arrow flight?
The purpose of arrow fletchings is to steer the arrow during flight. For an arrow to cleanly fly through the air, the back end of the arrow needs to follow the front end of the arrow. The fletchings keep the front and back end of the arrow in proper alignment, correcting the path of the arrow when needed.
How is fletching offset calculated?
To spot of offset fletch we would look down an arrow from nock to tip like aiming down the barrel of a shot gun. This time we will see the front of the vane move off to the left or right as it moves towards the tip of the arrow. It really does not matter if it is left or right offset because the end result is the same.
Why are my arrows going left?
Weak Arrow Spine
One of the most common reasons for shots being consistently off target is that you’re shooting arrows with a weak spine. Arrows that are too weak for your bow will cause them to bend too much in flight, making them hit off target.
What is fletching offset?
An offset fletch (right or left) creates arrow spin. This rotation better stabilizes the arrow and keeps it on a true flight path as it travels downrange. The arrow will be less effected by the wind and will steer shafts tipped with a sure-to-cut fixed-blade broadhead.
Can you have too much helical on an arrow?
You can put as much as will fit on the arrow. I run some but not a lot. I personally don’t think you need much. offset of small amount of helical should tune up just fine.
Which way does the odd color fletching go on a drop away rest?
The odd coloured arrow fletch (the index fletch, vane, fin or feather) is a guide that helps the archer correctly orientate the fletching when nocking an arrow. Traditionally, the index fletch faces away from bow and in towards the archer.
Why do arrows have 4 fletches?
4 Fletch Arrows. Simply put 4 vanes/feathers spins/stabilizes your arrow faster, therefore you’ll get faster trajectory and tighter groups, particularly at longer distances (distances beyond 40 yards).
Are 4 fletchings better than 3?
Arrows with 3 fletching have a smaller surface area by 25% compared to a 4 fletching arrow. This is also a reason why the arrow stability and drag are better with 4 fletch arrows. However, there are still different archers who value 3 fletch configured arrows for greater speed due to less drag.
